Swiss Chocolate Mousse with Peppermint and Orange

Who doesn’t love a good Chocolate Mousse? The addition of Toblerone in this mousse brings a whole new level of taste and texture. And then adding either the peppermint oil, orange oil or both just elevates it again. And it is so quick and easy to do. Can also be made a day ahead. This a family favourite of ours, I hope you enjoy it also.

Swiss Chocolate Mousse with Peppermint and Orange

200gm Toblerone chocolate

4 egg yolks

4 egg whites

1 cup thickened cream

3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

For an added twist, add 3 drops of Orange Essential oil (optional)

1. beat cream using electric beaters. Put in fridge until needed

2. Melt chocolate in large bowl over hot water, be very careful not to get any water into the chocolate. Allow to cool slightly

3. Use a wooden spoon to mix in egg yolks, one at a time. Beat until smooth and thick

4. Softly beat egg whites. Make sure the beaters are very clean and dry or the egg whites will not beat

5. Fold in whipped cream, then softly beaten egg whites

6. Spoon into individual serving dishes and refrigerate several hours until firm

7. Decorate with extra whipped cream, strawberries and grated chocolate
