Christmas Scent Candles

1-2 sheets Natural Beeswax (8' x 16" Natural Colour)

30-60cm Candle Wick

5-10 drops essential oil

Working on a flat clean surface place one sheet of beeswax in front of you. Measure the short width of the sheet and cut the candle wick to 2.5cm longer than the short width. In a separate small bowl, wind up cut candlewick and drip 5-10 drops of your chosen oil to fully saturate the wick. Pull the wick out and unwind, place straight along the very end of the short end of the beeswax sheet, leaving 2.5cm of wick sticking over one end (this will be the top of your candle). Starting from one corner, fold over a very small part of the beeswax to wrap around the wick. Use a hairdryer to warm up the wax a bit to make it more pliable. Do not melt.

Continue working up the wick, wrapping it with the edge of the beeswax. Once the entire wick is wrapped, start to roll the wick up in the beeswax like you would roll up a carpet. Keep the roll as tight as possible without smashing down the hexagon pattern too much. Once finished, smooth the final cm edge and down using the warmth of your fingers to tack it down. Trim wick to 1 cm. Tap down the base edge to stand up. Create two candles and wrap them with a Christmas ribbon or hessian for a wonderful gift. Remember to use a candle base to catch any wax drips.

Oil suggestions: Christmas Spirit, Cinnamon Bark, Peppermint, Thieves, Myrrh, Tangerine or whatever reminds you of Christmas.

You could do this gift at any time of year. Soak the wick in Lavender Essential Oil. When you are rolling, stop about 10 cm from the end and sprinkle some organic lavender buds onto the beeswax and press down. Gently rollup. Perfect gift for all year round.
