Information about the types of yoga sessions we have available.

Sessions


Essential Wellness Yoga offers a range of Yoga Sessions and Workshops both in-studio and Livestream. We provide a safe, inclusive space for all students, regardless of age, gender, ability, mobility or lifestyle. If you would like to improve your physical, mental or emotional well-being, our gentle slower-paced sessions are for you. Whether you aim to support your well-being or to support your body through chronic illness, chronic pain, stress or anxiety, Essential Wellness Yoga has a session for everyone.


  • Yin Yoga: In yin yoga, we aim to apply a small healthy amount of stress to our joints and connective tissue by relaxing muscles and holding poses for an extended period of time. This practice helps to regulate the body's flow of energy (chi or prana) and works on the meridians in the body. Yin yoga can be a very calming practice and is perfect for any level of yoga student looking to improve their overall well-being or as support for a chronic illness, chronic pain condition or to support stress, anxiety or depression. Suitable for all adults and young adults. (75 minutes)


  • Restorative Yoga: Restorative yoga is an antidote to the hectic modern lifestyle. A deeply calming form of yoga, it can teach us to slow down and surrender, to become receptive rather than active, and introspective rather than externally focused. In most modern styles of yoga, we work on postures. During restorative yoga, we allow the postures to work on us while holding the poses for an extended time . It is a way to create energy without using energy. We use a variety of props to fully support the body during restorative yoga. Suitable for all adults and young adults. (75 minutes)


  • Kids Yoga: Our impactful yoga for children goes beyond game-based sessions. It provides a solid physical, mental and emotional foundation that will last for a lifetime. Kids sessions build discipline, focus, self-esteem, confidence, resiliency, calmness, a powerful self-image while having fun. Sessions follow a yoga therapy based approach used to support specific issues common in childhood including lower back issues, digestion, weight, diabetes, recurring coughs, colds and sore throats, stress and anxiety, ADD/ADHD, depression, mental health, Autism Spectrum Disorder and disabilities. Sessions are available for 3-5 yrs, 5-8 years and 9-12 years. (1 Hour)


  • Young Adults Yoga: There is so much going on in the physical, emotional and mental layers of the teenage body. Hormonally a lot is going on. Emotionally our young adults are often on a rollercoaster ride. Yoga Sessions for Young adults follows a yoga therapy based approach and helps build: discipline, focus, self-esteem, confidence, resiliency, calmness, a powerful self-image. This approach is also used to support specific health and wellness issues common in young adults. The Young Adult Yoga Sessions are held in a safe place where they can be themselves, and believe in themselves. They are encouraged to be at ease in their uniqueness and unlock their potential. Sessions are for 13-18 year olds and are suitable for all genders and abilities. (1 Hour)


  • Yoga Therapy: Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga. We use exercises, asanas, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, diet suggestions and more. It encompasses a whole-body holistic approach. We work with corrective exercises to help bring the body back into balance and breathing and relaxation techniques to help calm the mind and body. Yoga therapy supports chronic illnesses, pain conditions, stress, anxiety and depression, as well as providing balance to your overall health and wellness. Suitable for adults, young adults and kids of all genders, ability and mobility levels. No previous yoga experience is required. (60-90 minutes)


  • Private Sessions: All sessions are available as private one-on-one sessions in-studio or Livestream. Sessions are tailored to the individual health, wellness and lifestyle needs of the individual. Private sessions are suitable for adults, young adults and kids of all genders, abilities, mobility and levels. (Initial consultation 75-90 minutes. Follow-up session 75 minutes)


  • Family Yoga: Little kids, big kids and big kids at heart come together to bond as a family in a fun and beneficial way. Age and developmentally appropriate yoga pose, animated breathing exercises and soothing relaxation techniques awaken the inner-child of all age participants. This personal family bonding session is open to extended family members and caregivers too! No yoga experience required but a willingness to have fun is a must... (1 Hour)


  • Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra can lead us to complete relaxation of the body, mind and emotions. Yoga Nidra is a state of conscious awareness and is a deep form of meditation that brings about calmness, quietness and clarity. Yoga Nidra is beneficial for supporting specific illnesses and conditions, as well as for general well-being. These sessions are suitable for adults. If you would like a Yoga Nidra session for young adults or kids, contact me to arrange it. (45 minutes)


About Studio Sessions


Studio sessions are in our boutique yoga studio in Twin Waters.


Our inclusive sessions are available for all genders, races, ages, abilities, physical, emotional and mobility levels. We offer a safe space where each student can be their unique selves without the pressure of competing with or comparing themselves to others.


The equipment and props are provided, so you do not need to bring anything except yourself (and a water bottle if required).


Numbers are limited to 6 students per session and we follow Covid-19 guidelines. 


Sessions are available in group sessions or private one-on-one sessions for Adults, Young Adults, Kids, Families and Corporate Wellness.


Some Studio Sessions and Livestream Session run at the same time.

About Livestream Sessions


A Livestream, Zoom session is not a replacement for studio sessions, it is in fact an addition and another option that is available for everyone. Livestream sessions provide an option when you would rather stay home but still want to continue your practice. Perfect for students to join from anywhere in the world. It is a very reassuring practice in the comfort of your own home. Livestream sessions are available for yin, restorative, yoga therapy, private sessions and yoga nidra.


  • Livestream classes are held via Zoom
  • Only 1 booking per household is required. Members of your family that live with you are welcome to join the session, but please ensure the practice is suitable for them
  • You will receive your Zoom link in your confirmation email after you have made your booking
  • Only those who have booked for the Livestream session will be admitted to ensure your safety and security
  • Props for Yin and Restorative Yoga sessions are helpful. If you have yoga props such as a mat, bolster, blankets and blocks, great. Don't be put off if you don't. Items you have at home are just as beneficial, such as a towel, pillows, cushions, rolled up blanket or a stack of books.
  • You can view your session on your phone, tablet, computer or stream it to your television. There are many options. If technology is not your thing, then please ask and we can help support you through the simple process.
  • Some Livestream Sessions and Studio Sessions run at the same time.
  • Please download the Zoom app onto your device before the session starts so that you are ready to go.

Workshops and Programs


Essential Wellness Yoga offers a number of workshops and programs catering to all ages. All workshops are suitable for students wishing to enhance their well-being. In addition, they are especially beneficial for those suffering from chronic pain, chronic illness, stress, anxiety or depression.


  • Yin Yoga and Mandala Art Workshop: a calming and nurturing adult Yin Yoga Session to relax the body and explore the peaceful practice of mandala art meditation to calm the mind. A tranquil workshop to unwind and reconnect. The workshop includes a yin yoga session, mandala art meditation and a yoga Nidra session to finish. Light refreshments are provided. Perfect for all adults, genders, abilities. No previous experience in yoga or meditation is required. Perfect for unwinding and finding your inner bliss. 3 Hours.


  • Young Adult Yoga and Mandala Art Workshop: a yoga therapy based session for young adults to support well-being, reduce stress and anxiety and build resilience, confidence and calmness. The workshop includes a young adult yoga session, mandala art meditation and a yoga Nidra session to finish. Light refreshments are provided. Perfect for all teens/young adults of any gender. No previous experience in yoga or meditation is required. 2 1/2 Hours


  • Kids Yoga and Mandala Art Workshop: a kids yoga therapy based session to help your kids find balance within themselves while building resilience, confidence and strength. The workshop includes a kids yoga session, mandala art meditation and a yoga Nidra session to finish. Light refreshments are provided. Perfect for kids aged 8-12 of any gender. No previous experience in yoga or meditation is required. 2 Hours


  • Yoga Nidra Workshop: Join me for this 3 Hour workshop as we explore what Yoga Nidra is. The workshop will begin with a yoga Nidra session, followed by a discussion on some of the aspects of yoga Nidra. Light refreshments will be provided before finishing the workshop with another yoga Nidra session to enhance the information you have just learnt. Perfect for all adults, genders, abilities. No previous experience in yoga or meditation is required. 2 Hours


  • Monthly Workshops (coming soon): Monthly workshops will be held to delve deeper into certain aspects of yoga or to help support specific illnesses or well-being issues. Monthly workshops will be suitable for adults of all genders, ages, mobility and ability levels. No previous experience in yoga or meditation is required. Workshops will vary in length from 2-3 Hours depending on the topic being explored
