Lip Balm

The summer months can be drying to the skin, especially the lips. This tender area of the face is repeatedly exposed to the sun and wind and can dry out and become cracked.


This DIY lip balm recipe helps prevent these problems, and it makes a great gift or stocking stuffer for anyone on your list!


DIY Lip Balm


• 1 tbsp. Coconut Oil

• 1 tbsp. Beeswax

• 2 tbsp. Shea Butter

• 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

• 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• Lip balm containers or tubes


In a small pot over medium-low heat, melt beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter. Remove from heat, and add Lavender and Peppermint oils. Whisk well to distribute oils throughout the mixture. Pour quickly into lip balm containers or tubes. Let cool on the counter till hard.


TIP: Here are some alternative Essential Oil combinations to try in place of the Lavender/Peppermint duo:


• Spearmint and Orange


• Lemon and Lime


• Bergamot and Spearmint
